So I clicked my ruby slippers together three times and we are back in the States. It feels oh so good but in a way it seems like we never left Malaysia. Sounds weird, but I never experienced that initial shock of being back home or randomly thinking “Gee I’m not in Malaysia anymore”. Things have been quiet and uneventful since our arrival back in the U.S., but I still think about our experience and the people we met. Yesterday we did massive amounts of work for the Information Technology Department. It was stressful to clean up the mess of files that I made, but all was resolved by the end of the day. Sam had a photo shoot that was really fun to watch. She took pictures of a group of students from the communication department. They were all very willing to participate and the pictures turned out great! No one except for our team has seen them, because they are going to be a surprise. By the end of the day ev…

So our Malaysian friend Nazreen came with us to the Ikea store near Gombak last night. He is quite a character and had us cracking up the entire ride there. One of the more amusing things he mentioned was that his roommates often saw him and our group walking on campus. When he was later on the phone with his girlfriend, they jokingly said “So you have five American women and one Malaysian woman…isn’t that enough?” He also attempted to teach us how to count in Malay, which I’ve already forgotten…
